Along with your intensive driving lessons, our courses include 6 hours of driving theory training . Before your driving theory class, we’ll give you a free link to practice online from when you book your course, allowing you to start practicing and revising before you even arrive.

Our courses run from Monday to Friday, with your theory test pre-booked for you on the Thursday or Friday, depending on availability.

Once you’ve passed your theory test, you would then  book your practical driving test. As long as you’re ready, we can then move  your practical test within just two weeks of finishing your crash driving course.

Two parts of the driving theory test

Your theoretical driving test will be split into two parts:

  • A multiple choice test comprising of 50 questions covering various aspects of the Highway Code. The pass mark is 43.
  • A hazard perception test consisting of a series of video clips of actual road hazards that need to be identified. The pass mark is 44

Practical driving test Manchester

The Driving Standards Agency recommends that the majority of learners have at least 45 hours of professional driving lessons and a minimum of 20 hours with family or friends. The average number of lessons people take is around 35 hours, but as everyone is different, some pass more quickly than others.

Every practical driving test starts with an eyesight check and some vehicle safety questions. You will then embark on your practical driving test, which will be around 40 minutes. Throughout your driving test, your examiner will be looking for a safe standard of driving, including when you’re carrying out set exercises.

You can make up to 15 driving faults and still pass the test (16 or more faults will result in a failure). However, if you commit just one serious or dangerous fault, you will fail your practical driving test.
